Let’s Walk & Talk – A day of Infamy and Heroes; the North Strand Bombings

Tuesday, 31st May 2011 @ 12pm– Meet at the Charleville Mall Library, North Strand, Dublin 1 .

Join historian, Pat Liddy as he visits the sites that were bombed by the German Luftwaffe on the fateful night in May 1941, bringing a taste of the horrors of World War ll to Dublin.  The tour will last 90 minutes and will include eye-witness accounts of the bombing. It will finish at Charleville Mall Library where the North Strand Bombing Exhibition and Oral History Project devised by Dublin City Library and Archive, will be on display.   This special event has been organised to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the bombing.

Event is free and no advance booking necessary. ‘Let’s Walk & Talk’ is a community initiative of Dublin City Council.  Contact: 2222233.
